The technical design of a Sälzer switch-disconnector follows a clear principle: safety through precision. The switchgear consists of a finely tuned system of drive, design and switch modules, which can be flexibly extended with additional modules and terminal covers. The drive module provides the characteristic, hand-operated switching movement with a defined switching angle of 90 degrees - a precise, mechanically latched process that guarantees reliable disconnection even under load conditions. The switch module contains positively opening contacts that ensure electrical isolation of the circuit. This design is complemented by finger-safe terminal covers with a protection rating of up to IP20, which reliably protect operators and maintenance personnel from contact.
Robust technology for long-lasting reliability

All contact surfaces are made of highly conductive, corrosion-resistant materials; gold plating is also used for special applications to ensure permanently low contact resistance and stable contact quality. The switches are also mechanically impressive thanks to their long service life: robust axle guides, precise spring mechanisms and a construction designed for durability ensure a permanently precise switching function - even after hundreds of thousands of actuations.
